Biography

Aous Thabit Naman received the B.Sc. degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from Al-Nahrain University, Baghdad, Iraq, in 1994, the M.Eng.Sc. degree in Engineering from University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in 2000, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia, in 2011.
He helped develop the High-Throughput JPEG2000 or HTJ2K, officially known as JPEG2000 Part 15 (ISO/IEC 15444-15) or ITU-T T.814.
He is the author of the OpenJPH open-source implementation of HTJ2K, available at https://github.com/aous72/OpenJPH.
He is currently working as a senior research associate at the School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications, the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia.
He has served as a reviewer for many journals and conferences, such as IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, IEEE Signal Processing Letters, and the International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP).
His main interests are in interactive scalable video compression and delivery, and their related technologies.
